Glad you can make it, the convoy will be on ch4 then Also I think once we meet you and Ryan in Westfield, he is going to lead the convoy because he said he knows a faster route than last time.

I wish my rear tow point (hitch was in), I really want to go so bad. I have a friend with a machine shop (makes aircraft parts) so I bet he can mill some material off my hitch to get it to work. Can't wait for June 11th. Another issue is almost 4 dollar a gallon gas. I used 1/2 a tank (50 dollars at todays' prices) last time I went.

Where the heck does one get a safety flag?

Edit: Nevermind, they sell them at the park.

I had to be towed forward...

...once.

And I'm 100% stock.

Too tired to post pics will get to it when I get to it. The kid I didn't bring has his birthday party tomorrow so I'll probably be tied up all day. Anyways, had a great time with you guys and it was nice to meet quite a few new people.

Man what a blast this was!!!

First, let me say that 5cents did a great job leading us around. He did a great job, as did Imped later in the day (I think that's his screen name here).

And the IndyORV guys are definitely first class. Anyone in that group that's on here, please pass the kudos back to the other guys that aren't on JF.

Here are some of the pics I took. I'll start out with one I actually didn't take, but generated from my mountain biking GPS. This is pretty much where we went on Saturday. I have to admit it's kind of cool to see it like this since at the time I was completely lost.

We started out along the west side of the property, running a trail through the woods. Since it had rained for several hours that morning, it was muddy and slick. My windows kept fogging and even my glasses were fogging for awhile (which kept me from realizing the rut I was trying to climb out of was just too big and slippery - sorry for holding the group up on that one).

As it usually goes with my trips, I never have enough action shots of myself, though in this case I have very few of others either. I spent most of my time helping my wife understand why this is something I enthusiastically enjoy. My daughter loved it, as did my usual off roading companion Owen (he's becoming old hat at this).

Group shot, sort of:

Making it look easy:

Hanging out in the Quarry. That's Mrs. Zakman, Zakman, and XJ_Renegade. And my green XJ.

Water!

Lunch! I'll admit I didn't realize they had food here. I brown bagged it. It was also at this time my wife and kids headed back to Lafayette for a birthday party Owen was invited to. I admit I was thrilled to share this experience with them and I know at least my daughter may make a repeat appearance.

After lunch 5cents, Zakman, XJ_Renegade, fergyjk and I headed back to the quarry to catch up with the rest of the group (poor Kris had to wait an eternity on his food so we hung out with him until his son finished eating) and played around a little bit.

Zakman making it look easy.

Nothing ever looks as challenging on the web as it is in real life.

Me on the same hill:

That afternoon there were tons of ATVs and bikes zooming around. On our way to the Orange trail I got behind this little girl and wanted to make sure I gave her plenty of space.

For some crazy reason the camera stayed in the bag for the rest of the trip.

The highlight of the trip for me was climbing up out of the Orange trail (not the end of the trail, but where it flattens out near the northeast part of the property). There were pretty much 2 lines - hard to the right, harder to the left. I was second to last out of the trail and watched the left side carefully, even getting out and looking it over. After some friendly encouragement about taking the left side, I decided to try.

Made it on the second try!

If anyone got a pic or video of that I'd love to see it.

After that several of us headed back to the parking lot to pack up while many of the IndyORV guys stuck around and ran more of the trail (I'm guessing they did - saw several come back muddier than when we left them).

The rest of my pics are here.

Great meeting everyone!

I was hoping to go, too bad I missed it. You guys looked like you had a great time. I was going to post that I would be at the one this coming weekend 4/16 but I got some bad jeep new friday. I have 2 tie rod ends, a ball joint and all 4 breaks to replace before making any kinda drive.I may have a front bearing out too, will see when I get the breaks apart. Not to mention the knock I have developed in the past 2 weeks.

Any way, now that I have poured out my jeep heart. IF anyone knows of a place that is open within 20 or 30 miles of Seymour send me a PM. I would love to get together and do some wheeling ANY TIME!
