1st Badlands Jeep Jamboree

Anyone else signed up? I'll be there with my 7 year old co-pilot - this will be his 3rd Jamboree (my 5th). We're signed up as "Trails Only".

I know several of you may not be interested since it's a place you can go for a lot cheaper any other time. That's already been discussed here. I'm just curious who else plans to be there.

I am signed up for it as well. Since I go to Badlands a lot anyways, I know that the price is more but I'm guessing there's more to it than just that - and it's my first official Jeep Jamboree!

I wish I could afford it! Just bought a lift kit and I am going to CO and AZ this summer, gotta save!

Should be a good experience for you. This is my 5th and I've been impressed each time. I haven't been to the Badlands in about 10 years (back then it was in my CJ7), so I'm looking forward to getting reacquainted with the park. See you there!

We are going but just to look around. The $30 is more my price range right now. Maybe nxt year or this fall at FrenchLick.

Yes, having been through my first Jamboree with only minor inconveniences (read two blown tires in two hundred feet) I'm very much more likely to venture to a new destination with a JJUSA group and French Lick is the most likely choice for me. The schedule is little iffy for me but if I can work it out you may very likely see me there!

Yes there are pics because my little sister was riding with me the whole Jamboree! I'll need to figure out how to post them.

Both blowouts were on the same wheel and only about 100 feet apart - My sway bar disconnect stud was jabbing them in the sidewall. Stupid me! I actually wasn't crying about it, these were the factory Goodyears and had over 50k miles on them... well, except for the never-been-used spare that had, oh, 100 feet on it! The JJUSA and Badlands folks got my Jeep out of the woods (literally) and got me a bald-but-driveable spare so I could finish the day and limp home where I picked up 4 new tires at my local Big O - Yamagucci Geolanders I guess. So I got to try them out on the trail and on the highway drive home and they're not bad, just a little softer ride than the Goodyears.

What a blast!!! Good meeting you jake_blue.

I'll trade you your 2 flat tires for my punctured gas tank, bent front tow point, and smashed rear quarter (behind the right tire).

Ah, but it was worth it.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - the people involved with the JJUSA org are 1st class top notch. I had to be towed out and back to the Badlands shop and it took 2 trail guides to get me there (we didn't want to continue on the trail for fear of the gas dripping down on to the exhaust and starting a fire).

I'll post up pics, videos, and a story later on. Hope anyone else there posts up. Met a lot of nice people...
