ZORTCC Midwest 4x4 Show and Trail Run

ZORTCC Cruise Night Event Info.

About Roamer Cruise Night - Held in downtown Streator on Main Street each Labor Day weekend, this family event brings over 600 restored and antique cars and features its namesake 1917 Roamer automobile. The largest automotive event in downstate Illinois attracts spectators numbering between 15 -20,000. It's a time of nostalgia, camaraderie, and good old-fashioned fun. The Event is Hosted by The Dream Machines Car Club.

ZORTCC – The Zombie Outbreak Response Team of Champaign County is a relatively new off-roading club based in central Illinois in Champaign County. While it predominantly consists of jeeps, they are open to any and all off-road vehicles.

Brief Overview – The Event will begin Saturday September 3rd in Streator. Registration for Roamer Cruise Night begins at noon and lasts until 7pm. The cost is 10 dollars. Once each participant registers for Roamer Cruise Night they then will need to make a stop off at Cheapseats Bar and Grill located on Main Street between 2 and 6pm. There is no cost to register with the ZORTCC and you automatically get entered into the raffle. Here they will be given a wristband that will be used for discounted entry and camping at The Cliffs Insane Terrain and a raffle ticket for the drawing. The entire downtown area will be roped off and all the shops and bars will have open doors and everyone basically bounces around checking out all the cars. Participants are free to do as they wish, however Cheapseats is extending their parking lot to us for “4x4 parking only.” Here you will find most of the jeeps parking and you can check out everyone’s set up. The drawing will be held at Cheapseats around 10pm. Participants must be present to win. Every store and bar will be extremely busy so it is strongly suggested to make your way there early enough to get inside. The final list of sponsors donating to the event is not yet complete, but some of the verified contributors are 4WD.com, Discount Tire Direct, Superchips, Rough Country Suspensions, The Cliffs Insane Terrain, Palko’s BP, Donahue Auto Repair and Cheapseats. Participants are responsible for finding their own lodging that night. There are hotels available in town, but due to the size of the event they fill up fast and early. There are also hotels in Ottawa, Illinois which is between Streator and Marseilles and about a 15 minute drive from the car show. I have included information on them. The Dream Machine Car Club will also be holding a raffle on Sunday for a 1966 Ford Mustang or $5,000 cash, winners choice.

Sunday September 4th we will be meeting at The Cliffs Insane Terrain at 9am and will ride trails until 5pm and then break for dinner. We may possibly have a night run that evening around 10pm but we will need at least 10 participants to register ahead of time.

Monday September 5th many participants will again hit the trails and enjoy the day.

Ya that quarry was different I didn't get to wheel on it due to the rock crawlers the weekend I went. My jeep isn't set up for rock crawling anyways it's got stock gears.

I was thinking of cruising down with my brother, and checking things out. We'd be coming from O'hare/Lockport area.

What time should we plan to get there to enter our Jeeps in the car show? And is there a "Jeep/4x4" area to park, or once we enter our Jeeps in the car show, they will show us where to park?

Sorry for all the questions, just interested and sounds like a nice way to spend a Saturday!

The "jeep and 4x4" event is basically running inside the bigger car show. The car club that puts on the show has nothing to do with the jeep 4x4 part of it other than the fact tht we are making cars enter their show to help them out. Basically you will want to get into town no later than 4 or 5 pm. The cruise night registration ends at 7 i believe.. but 95% of the cars will be in by then and trying to find good parking spots. It will cost you 10 bucks to enter your Jeep into cruise night. Once you register to be in cruise night.. you need to head to Cheap Seats... its a bar and grill about 3 blocks away from the city park which is where cruise night registration is. Go inside and you will register with me. I will be taking names, email address, and phone numbers (if desired) to basically start creating a master "wheelin' buddy" list for my jeep club. I will give you a wrist band and a raffle ticket. That wont cost you anything. Cheap seats is allowing us their parking lot for "4x4 and jeep parking only" so you can leave your jeep there or cruise around whichever you prefer. if you watched the videos it will make more sense, or you will see once you get there. So there you get to enjoy your night checking out some of the most awesome muscle/custom cars you will ever see, hopefully a lot of jeeps as well while bar hoping. basically all the bars and stores and what not open their doors and everyone just bounces from place to place. Then.. at 10 pm when the cruise night ends.. be back at cheap seats. Thats when we will be doing the give away and you must be present to win. AI would suggest heading that way about 9 oclock actually because the entire downtown will be slammed with people and you will want to make sure you can get inside. Are you not going to go wheeling the next day at the cliffs?

Also.. I will try to post a map of where all the registration booth, cheapseats, and all the good bars and what not are for everyone.

Here is a Google map I am working on so everyone will have the addresses of key places during cruise night that you can put in your GPS. I plan on making a hand drawn map that can be printed out and put in your pocket while you are there so you can find things easily.

Most of us will be waking up there since we are camping out there. Some people may wheel.. some might not. Probably depends on how Sunday goes.

I dont think anyone will be making any promises. I think they are more worried about being hungover from the car show. The temptation to party hard will be there that night.
