Welcome! I'm new here too.

I'm going to do my first mod to my TJ next week. I'm replacing the 30x9.5 tires with 31x10.5 duratracs. I'm also refinishing the stock gambler wheels. 5 new tires plus 5 wheel refinishings and I'm broke now... Lol

I got the 31s on my TJ today.. One slight issue however. The three spare tire bolts on the carrier are just a tad too short.

Does any one know where to get bolts that are just a tad longer?

You should just be able to get three wheel studs from any auto parts store..

After looking at it further, and looking at other stock carriers, the bolts are welded in. It looks like people are trimming the rubber bumper on the tail gate to get a wider tire in an OEM carrier. Or taking the carrier off the tailgate and putting spacers or washers behind it. I wish those lug bolts would just come out so I could just replace them with longer ones.. That'd been easiest.

Try pulling the carrier off, grinding the weld off, and voila!

Changed the valve cover gasket. Old one was leaking everywhere. Went with the fel-pro.
