I believe this is NOT a petition to save the Cliffs, but to get grant money to help fund it..... There are a few petitions going around.

Well here is another link on my clubs forum. I know there are a few people on here that have helped design the cliffs and also talk to the owner of the cliffs very often a personal level.
http://gljt.org/modules.php?name=For...wtopic&t=10774

"I just talked to Steve Flynn, the owner of the Cliffs.

THERE ARE NO IMPENDING OR PLANS OF ANY KIND TO CLOSE THE CLIFFS. The guy in Joliet is trying to get a govenment GRANT so he can buy the Cliffs should Steve decide to sell. It is a pre-emptive plan considering the economy. The guy in Joliet has being trying to buy it for some time.

Steve has no plans to sell, of course he himself, would like to get the grant and has applied for it himself as it would ensure the Cliffs being around pretty much forever. However, politics in the area has played a role so the big bucks have gone to many other projects in the area."

I haven't heard anything about that around here, and people love to gossip in this town. Every time I go by there it looks pretty busy.

I was told that the workers there had not been paid is some time and the owner was 3 or 4 months late on his payment to the bank. This came from a very reliable source.
