I'll be leaving in about 30-minutes. There's a light dusting of snow on the ground, and snow flurries in the forecast....should be an interesting day! The Orange trail may not be an option today.....

What a great time it was today! I have a ton of pictures to sort through, when I'm done I'll do a trail report. Made it home safe and sound....nothing broke or bent! Can't wait to go again.

Thanks to Jeeps Gone Wild for a great time!

You missed half of the fun Jeff! Between a dead alternator (Zach's XJ) and a wheel falling off (Zach's XJ) we had an interesting trip home. All in all, after some scratched front fascia, a loose fender flare, and my fair share of mud--today was a great trip. Thanks goes out to all the new faces who came and wheeled: Jason, Eric, Carlos, Mike, Louis, Black Rubi, White Wheeled YJ, and whoever else I am forgetting (and everyone else that is usually there). I counted 13 Jeeps in the caravan on the way there, not to mention the guys that were already at the Badlands. I hope to see you all next time. (April 12th, Sat.) Today was a start to a great wheeling season.

It was nice to meet at least a couple of you guys out there. It was even nicer to see all y'alls sweet rigs out there, too. Most of you guys probably saw my red WJ going down the creek trail after pulling out that sunk XJ.

It was to bad my day was almost ruined an hour into getting to badlands cause of a broken front driveshaft. I didn't know how much I appreciated 4WD until it was gone! It was a good thing I installed a TrueTrac in the rear last Thursday, so I at least had some decent traction in 2WD for the rest of the day.

BTW, Mike (Disney TJ), I got 2 or 3 pictures of your Jeep coming down the creek. Or was that you on the CB saying you wanted them? Either way, PM me your email and I can send the full res pictures over to you.

I guess I spoke too soon! I washed off the mud today and found I had cracked my driver side rear fender flare. Nothing a little JB Weld couldn't fix.

What caused the wheel to fall off?

Loose lug nuts. Zach noticed a minor clicking noise from the time we left the Badlands. He was about 45 minutes away from home when the Jeep got really shaky on the expressway, he pulled over and the wheel fell off and broke a lugnut stud. The other 4 studs were still good so we got it jacked up and threw his spare on. The original wheel had wallowed out holes and was pretty thrashed. Scary stuff.
