Yj Help!

I'm 18 and currently looking for a jeep wrangler preferably a YJ 97-99 (I heard the YJ is reliable, is this true?) I will be buying this on my own and I would like to know if I am getting a bang for my buck. looking to spend around 5,000. I would like NO MODS, I'm old fashion not that there is anything wrong with off roading but its not my cup of tea, any help will do.
