Good 4x4 shop in Chicagoland?

Can anyone recommend a good 4x4 shop in the Chicagoland area? I'm looking for a good shop to install a 3" lift kit, tires, & wheels on my JK. Also looking for a good shop to replace my ring & pinion gears.

There is one in Alsip and I think one in Crestwood, I just can't remember the names of the places, I will find out and let you know.

Super! Thanks much!

I know there is one in arlington heights as well.....

....why don't you join a club and/or have some people help you as least for the lift. You'd save a lot of money.

I've had a buddy or two get some work done there. Both were satisfied.

Why not put the lift on yourself with some buddy's? A 3" lift on a JK would NOT be that difficult. Are you part of a club? That is always a good place to start finding peeps with the "skills" to help you do such a thing, & then you save more $$$ and in turn use that $$$ for more mods! :2thumbsup::cheers2:

I also believe that http://extremejeep.24extreme.com/site/ installs lifts on Jeeps....A friend in our club had a lift installed there within the last 4 months or so. Not sure of prices, but worth a look.

Thanks for the help. I am not currently a member of a Jeep club but would be interested in joining. Not quite sure where to start - what clubs are in the Frankfort area?

I would LOVE to install the lift on my own (with a little expert help of course). The only thing I'm a little freaked out about is that the Black Diamond 3" lift I want to use has cam bolts to put the caster back in spec. Apparently, you have to cut a special hole with a die grinder to accomodate the cam bolt. I think I could do the rest of the install if I took my time.

Dominant Motorsports in New Lenox. Owner operated and he has lifted, caged, gear swapped and fabricated more that ANYONE I know. He's a good friend and drives a lifted truck every day.

815-485-1328 ask for Dave. You won't beat the price or quality.

Hey all, I'm also looking for a good 4x4 shop in the Chicago Area. Arlington Heights and New Lenox are both far from where I live. Any good shops on the SouthSide of Chicago/ or SW Suburbs?

Wup This 01-25-2009 08:02 PM

I would consider New Lenox the SW suburbs....I don't know of any shops closer to Chicago than that.

HeVeMetL 01-26-2009 07:55 AM

I really wouldn't. More like Oak Lawn, Alsip, Evergreen Park area. I just don't want to drive 40+miles if theres a problem with the lift or it needs simple adjustments.

Southwest springs does lifts, there located on southwest highway, can't remember the exact street but it's about a block east of pulaski.

There is Attitude Performance in Arlington Heights and Car Boutque(might have mis-spelled it) on Golf and Roselle road in Schaumburg. I would just install it yourself or have a couple buddies help you, way cheaper and the learning experience is fun.

I would not recommend Attitude Performance for a re-gear job. What a nightmare.

If you just looking for someone to do the lift, i'd hope they can handle that.

D&R Racing in Morris my friends cousin works there he welded my frame where the steering gear box attaches I know for a fact they do lifts. They wsheel all the time.

Why do you say Attitude performance is so bad?
