In conjunction with the Wisconsin Off-Road Vehicle Park, Inc. (WORVPI), WOHVA is working with NCWRPC on an extensive Feasibility Study to direct establishing a 10,000 acre Badger State Motorized Recreation Area (MRA). *Weekly, a conference call with the North Central Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission (NCWRPC) and a WORVPI team is held. *WOHVA is excited to be on the forefront, representing Badger State motorized trail riding enthusiasts, on this and other advocacy projects. *Three such meetings occurred last month. *WOHVA, of course, participated in all these meetings. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *Informed access advocates will recall that WOHVA previously contracted with an independent consultant to develop a business plan for establishing a MRA here in the Badger State. *NCWRPC is located in Wausau, Wisconsin and does major research projects for many northern Wisconsin counties and municipalities. *Regular updates on this project will be available on the WOHVA web site with detailed updates expanded upon in the WOHVA Members Only Forums. *Watch our website for more details as they become available.

WOHVA proudly became the first Wisconsin Association or Club Annual Member of the Wisconsin Off-Road Vehicle Park, Inc (WORVPI). *Also a Keystone Sponsor of WORVPI, WOHVA has been striving for the past eight years to assure that OHV recreational opportunities are expanded here in the Badger State. *Memberships of all levels (beginning at $10) are currently available. *Plus, you get a great thank you gift with your paid membership. To learn more about WORVPI and how you, your small business, association or club, local government/agency, or corporation can help make this motorized recreational venue a reality visit their web site (http://www.WORVPI.org).

Volunteers from across the Badger State participated in WOHVA’s Annual Spring Pipeline Trail Day. *The hours spent by these volunteers helps assure that The Pipeline remains open to licensed motorized vehicle recreation as well as assists WOHVA in obtaining grants to rehabilitate and maintain this section of the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest (CNNF). *As always, WOHVA provided all volunteers with an outstanding trail lunch (also prepared and served by WOHVA volunteers). *Thanks to all who attended. *For more information on The Pipeline see the CNNF Motorized Vehicle Use Map and look for Forest Road #55552 in the Laona/Lakewood Ranger District.

Accompanied by Wisconsin Off-Road Vehicle Park Directors and representatives of Forest County, WOHVA toured potential locations for a motorized recreational area in Forest County. *The group spent the entire day exploring the areas taking time to carefully note wetlands, domestic dwellings, soil types and topography of each site. The tour is part of the process to determine the most suitable location. *This location will become the ultimate recommendation in both a feasibility study and business plan for Wisconsin’s first all-inclusive OHV riding area.

Three Mole Lake Trail Days were hosted by WOHVA last month. *Trail Days center on trail maintenance and development, but there is always some trail riding involved.
