14th annual Northwoods Jeep Jamboree - Crandon WI

I (& the wife) am all signed up. It is on July 23-25 just outside of Crandon WI. on the Indian land by the Mole Lake casino.

14th annual Northwoods Jeep Jamboree

Is anyone else here planning on going? Or, have you been there before and have some info to share with a JJ rookie. I'm hoping it will be a good way to get the wife interested in wheeling, at least for the weekend. A little more tame (& sober) version of wheeling than being out in the woods with the guys.

Follow the guide lines on the Jamboree link. They give a detailed list of what to bring. I believe they send out a pamplete in the mail as well.
I recomend a CB to talk to fellow jeepers on the trail. A camera to get those offroad photos. With it being in July this year I would highly recomend some sort of bug spray. You may want to bring extra snacks and soda for on the trail. You are provided a bag lunch for on the trail (witch is very good) but you may perfer something special to eat. Don't be afraid to ask questions at registation or out on the trail. Your trail guides help you through the tough spots. See you there!

^I see you are a member of the lcjs. I've talked with another lcjs guy on another board, sylvanis, but have not been able to make it out wheeling with you guys yet. So, which one are you, (in your gallery pic) the guy in the Jeep or sitting on top of it.

I meet some of there trail guides on the Drummond Island JJ last year. They are a great bunch of guys, and gals. They are fun to be with. Listen to them while on the trail and you will have a good time.

I'm sitting on top of the Jeep, my son is sitting in the drivers seat. One of the pics in my gallery is taken on one of the trails. I'm not sure witch trail I will be guiding this year.

We went last year - we had a great time. The trails we were on were more "skill driving" and tight turning then on other jamborees we had gone on. We picked the "middle" numbered trails. Had a great time - had one of the "tribal leaders" and managers of the casino in our group - because he wanted to see what the Jeep thing was all about. the trail guide let him drive some - he had a blast - and said he was going back to the casino to fill out some PO requests for Jeeps!

It was very interesting to see some of the ceremonies they put on for us as well. And one thing to remember, DO NOT under any circumstances, touch, cut, bend, break, etc a White Birch tree. that tree is sacred to them - and they take it very seriously!

All in all it was good fun. My jeep Jamborees pics are here: I have quite a few from the Crandon last year.

newbie here! I was under another forum and someone pointed out you all have been conversing here!

My first jamboree but not my first 4-wheeling.....

Sooooo looking forward to it.

Been trying to find out where others will be staying for the event....the Casino? Anyone camping? I was checking into Piles Campground.

Thoughts? Ideas?

and oh yea...will be coming alone...so may need someone who wants to ride shotgun to help me guide around the trees! don't want to get one of those birch trees someone mentioned earlier!

signed:

Dianne and JACK the Jeep

2007 JK Wrangler, with Rubi wheels and tires and modified custom bumpers.

see you all there!

I'll be staying at the casino. The wife is not big on camping at all! Or wheeling for that matter, but, I'm hoping an organized event like this will change that.

Post up a pic of your Jeep (esp. any defining characteristics) and I'll see if I see you there.

Heres mine...

EDIT: Wait a minute! Does that say your in Missouri?

tjtrorson (from post #6) sent me a new link to his Jamboree pics from 2008. I'll pass it along here for those of you who have never been there and are interested.
