Not talking about the off-road park outside of Raton . . .

Has anybody driven any of the area east of Carson NF and west of Raton?

Looks like on GPS there are a lot of dirt roads, but not sure about public land vs. private and things like camping, etc.

Any information would be helpful.

There are a bunch of locked gates in that area. I was up there a couple years back and run into many locked gates. Mills Canyon is a great place to run a few trails. There are gates but you can open and close them. You can follow the Canadian River about 5 miles south of the Mills Canyon Campground. Also there are plenty of trails nearer to you in the Socorro area out near the VLA.
