Well welcome! I met up with some guys this past weekend that know where to go and one of the guys has a shop in town. I met up with WJon35s too. We both have similarly built Grand Cherokees. What kind of Jeep are you looking for? I'll be building a trail buggy as soon as I get my crap down here from Indiana.
I'm glad people are starting to notice this thread. It'll be nice to have a group to wheel with.
Looks like I wont be getting another truck anytime soon so Ill have to rely on my wifes old truck. Its a 2wd 02 expedition but I am making some changes to make it more off road friendly. I still would like to wheel with yall sometime soon.
I just got to Cannon this past thursday, not as bad as people made it out to be...

Been away from here for a while. A group of us went to Canadian River last weekend. There were thousands of people there. It's well worth the road trip and the terrain is everything from sand and mud to rocks and dirt. Something for everyone there. Oh, and it's 20,000 acres. All you need is a Texas off road sticker and put it on your windshield, yes they do patrol the area. The state police had a Hummer H1 out on the trails. I still have 6 weeks down here at Holloman, it'll be nice to get back and work on my junk.
Hunting in NM is very weird compared to other places I've been. Hogs are going to be in the Mid-eastern/South-eastern parts of the state.
Ok fellas, I found the mystical place between clovis and portales. On the way to portales turn into the second cattle farm and in the back behind the hay sheds there is a sandy pit area and it's got some hill climbs, I went down on a weekend and there were lots of people on ATVs and dirt bikes. SN: Took a trip to Red River this weekend and there are some really nice looking trails up there, sad thing we were in my wife's KK and got stuck in the almost two feet of snow about 100 yards into one of the trails.
