2014 Go Topless Day

Here's our run, come join us if you like:

*2014 Go topless run, Stock Friendly Run #6

La Bajada Hill (Rt. 66) and Santa Fe "Blow Hole"

When: May 17th
Where: Meeting at the Phillips 66 Gas Station off Highway 22 (Exit 259, I-25).
Time: 9:00, leaving promptly at 9:30.

The purpose of these runs are more to get out and explore whats around you rather then running obstacles and testing the breaking point of your vehicle. You may or may not need to use 4wd but probably not low range. With most of these trips we will have a primary trail run with some secondary activities thrown in.

We will be meeting at the Phillips 66 Gas Station that is located right off Exit 259 on Highway 22 at 9:00. The plan is to head to the trail running it from south to north. We will be retracing portions of Historic Route 66. To start will be a climb up "La Bajada" hill. We will then travel through the Santa Fe National Forest en-route to the famous "Blow Hole". This naturally occurring, virtical lava tube is nearly 200' deep and will provide the perfect spot to stop for lunch.

This WILL be an all-day event.

Channel 4 for CBs or 147.57 for HAM.

Please be ready to leave the parking lot at 9:30am. We'll regroup once again at an air down spot at the base of La Bajada hill before starting the actual trail.

Airing down is optional and not required, more for comfort than traction.

What to bring:
Full tank of fuel
Appropriate clothing

A Santa Fe National Forest MVUM
