Whats it worth?

I'm not sure if this is in the right section but here it goes,

I need to buy a pickup truck and might need to sell the jeep

I was wondering what your opinon of the value is.

2000 TJ with 82k miles hard top 4.0L sport. I have a custom rear bumper with tire swing and a body armor 4 hoop front bumper with superwinch EPI 9.0 on it I also have a 4" superlift on 35" bfg AT's (with certs!) (about 75% tread) I have Adjustable UCA's Big daddy offroad tie rod, disco's, FORD 9" rear end, geared to 4.88's chromo shafts, Detroit locker in the rear and a lock right in the front. Aftermarket stero, no carpet in the back, New CV Driveshaft in the rear with a super short SYE, Banks monster exhaust, CB with 3' Firestik, Disk breaks all around, I am sure I forgot some stuff but nothing is wrong with the jeep mechanically, except the tranny shifts hard (but doesnt slip) no rust some small paint peeling where the hood meets the windshield but nothing terrible. Newly rebuilt front driveshaft as well.

Yikes...that's a tough one to value...you gotta find a jeepster to fully appreciate your mods...luckily you're in the right part of the country for that.

Now that I havern't contributed anything to your thread, I will bow out gracefully.

Good luck Mike

p.s. sounds like a hell of a rig, considered selling a kidney instead?

Look for comparable ones on craigslist.

Or, just go with KBB value, because all those mods you installed dont make it worth any more than a stock tj, in my opinion, but you might get lucky and find a buyer that wants a rig someone else built and beat on.

Ha! Couldn't you just rent or borrow a pickup for a little while?

Thats what I've been doing, but I'm guiding hunts now and its kind of hard to fit a bull elk in the wrangler.

haha, almost was able to call you out...nice ninja edit

Edit: sorry to get away from topic...average condition book value (black book trade, dealer tool) is about $7,100, obviously not including any mods. Take that for what it is. I'd buy it from you for about $7,600 in the condition you say it is, put it on my lot at about $9,900 and hope I didn't have to dump $2k into the transmission like I did the '03 TJ I bought almost a year ago and sat on for 7 or 8 months...
