Sierra Vista?! You poor bastard... I got married there when I was stationed at Ft Huachica for training. The justice of the peace had a emphysema coughing fit and almost died in the middle of the ceremony...
Perhaps not so surprisingly, that marriage ended in disaster. :P

There are a few of those, but there is a trail that goes up the mountain. I got up to over 7,000 ft elevation before I turned around. I need to go back out there when I get back.

believe it or not its been rainin!
For the OP: If you have a whole day a good intro to the mountain is to go out the west gate, turn left, stop at the lake for a break, then head sse over Montezuma Pass/National Monument along the border and head back north. From the westside you can go up many FS Rts. The one to Sunnyside takes you near the locked gates at the top of the ridge. This isn't real wheeling but a good dirt road day trip. There's quite a few wheelers on base who have posted on this forum. Just search older SV threads. I am still on the fence about our Cityprofile group trip to ajax myself (over there my name is catfish).

I just threw on some new tube doors and a bikini top I need to de-virginize on the trails. Let me know the next time you want to go wheeling.
