Snow!! Well up on the mountains at least... We had snow down to about the 5500 foot level Friday and Saturday, so Saturday afternoon I took my boys up to Miller and Ash Canyons in the Huachuca Mountains. Didn't get to snow in Miller canyon until the very end of the road, but the mountains were beautiful. THen up Ash Canyon and got up into some light snow. Found some neat trails that I didn't know were there, and found an old car sitting there, could't tell what kind it originally was. Great day, and looking forward to going back to see more.... Also I passed a Green Grand Cherokee who I think was David Townsend, but am not sure, as he didn't stop.. David if that was you, should have stopped. I'm planning on going back up on Ft Huachuca with a couple of friends this Saturday...

Enjoy the pics:

Cool, Hope you enjoy it up there! My family has some land up there, northwest of Show Low, about 360 acres. Havn't been up there for along time...

I have the next few Saturdays off so I'm gonna try and go out on each one. When you get back, we can hook up and go exploring.

back in 87 i had a new pathfinder. it had a button the dash that would let you start it in gear for offroad. what they did not think of is my 5 year old watched me use that and one day, he borrowed the keys got in the truck and yep he started it, in gear and promplty ran into a big tree. tree 1, nissan 0.

Yesterday, I met up with some guys from the Offroadpassport.com forum to go exploring around the north western end of the Huachuca mountains. We went up Brushy canyon and Lyle canyon to try to find the Tom Wills and Joiner mine camps. We didn't find much at the Tom Wills site other than a few rusty cans. THere was also a neat area next to it where a wash carved through some rock and made an interesting spot that would be a small waterfall when the wash runs. Up at the Joiner site, we found alot of interesting concrete and rock work going up the steep side of the canyon wall. After that we headed over to the Lyle Canyon rd where we found a pretty cool dam that had quite a bit of water in it. From there we headed up to a final spot that looks north over the grass lands of Sanoita. Great day of easy trails. Pics:
