We started doing trail inspection/trimmed trees/brush for the splash today. The group ran Presidents/ rio lobo then ran True grit and Deliverance. by 2 pm is was getting a bit warm so we called it a day.
Club president giving the center line a run at the launch pad AZ5.
Weather was very good for this years Splash. We hope that those that attended had a good time. looked like 200+ jeeps in the mornings round up. The two groups i ran the though the area of Cat tail seemed to all have a good time. For me it was better that i only had 10 in each day and not 20+. That allows more freedom to run other trails and play in areas of harder rocks for those that want to risk it, since by sign ups it is a moderate/easy trail, but many times i find people do want to be challenged. Something to feel they did something harder than the thought they could.. visit special places to see like The Weaver needle "bee hive" and the eye. I like to kinda make it 101 in crawling if i can, so in the day we go by many 3/4 rated gardens of rocks. Spot them through things they would never try as a option only if they want and watch how I get through, though i warn them if i do flop it dont do it that way..lol. Great fun.
Just another thank you to the many people that attended and the sponsors. Going over the the final count in our last meeting there was over 300 jeeps. A record in attendance in the 20 years? The fee is by the jeep so you times that by 3. about 1000 people, wow. The funds as always go to charities and this year was a real winner to them.
