Dusy Ershim Trail 2013 notice/feeler

This is very early to post. Though it is a longway off. I am planning on this as our big vaction next year. Its one of the trails on my list to do. I know for us we need time to get time off( about a week) 3days on thetrail time to get there and back.

I am thinking first week of Aug. 2013. The good thing its is not as far to go as the Rubicon was.

I am open to input on month days since its a bit far off.

Wish I could afford to go. The trail looks fun and very scenic. I'll be lucky to be back to work by January.

Well it is ALONGTIME till Aug(1st week?) 8 months?. We will go on the cheep too, no rooms. Will camp at the lake/trail night before and hit the trail next day. its a 2-3 day drive on the trail. then camp somehwere the last day, drive home. from my place about 8 hours(its just east of Fresno Cali ). This is one of my "bucket list trails". I have not been on this and only know of one person that has, Joan from Bullhead4 wheelers. I think she has been on every trail there is. She said two days no trouble. But that would be with a fast group, no getting stuck, breakingdown, stacking rocks etc. she said it is not as hard as the Rubicon(well that was before they filled in the little and big sluice this year.) migt be harder now? Still cali people rate it a 9-10 out of 10.

We plan on doing it up hill so it will be harder too, they say. I have heard even in Aug its way cold at night as thetrail is over 10k feet once you get up the hill. the trail is not open all year and is closed Nov1st no matter. once it snows there its very deep. It wont even melt i heard till late july depending on snow pack and heat.

I figure this kind of trip takes planning since it is far away and like the Rubicon. people would have to plan this as a vacation to get time off. But you are welcome to go as is anyone else that wants an adventure. I have the trail map. Will lead it unless a more qualified person joins. I can run tail gunner then like Rubicon.

its going to be a great trip.
