Arizona Mogollon Rim Road Meet Spring 2011

spent the weekend up on the mogollon rim driving around some of the back roads and thought it would be pretty cool to get a bunch of jeep people i havent met together and drive the rim road and or possibly drive up and down some of the back roads ive found. its getting to that time of year where the weather is turning south up there so it would take place in the spring. i want to get alot of people to go, what do you guys think? think we could get a good amount of people to go?

if it goes over well it could be an annual deal. my cherokee is stock as of now so its all easy roads. but there are some technical spots in the back roads that a stock jeep can make it through.

i have quite a few ideas, just wanted to pitch the main one out there and see what the response is like. im ready to get out and meet new people!

this has also been posted in the "Arizona ?" thread, the xj non-technical forum. cityprofile.com in the arizona forum. and expeditionportal.com under the four corners region forum. put the word out!

AZ-260 W/Payson-Heber Hwy to AZ-87 S - Google Maps
its kind of in reverse. point D is where we would start. C is just a random spot or else google wanted to take alternate routes...B is knoll where we would stop for lunch/photos. a break...A is where we would end 300 and hop on 260 and head into payson then after all branch off and head home

I'm game if the dates work with work. I'll mark the thread and look out for planned dates.

i drove my sisters 1994 v6 mustang, and my dads 1978 BMW 328i down the rim road. so yes. stock vehicle rated. if by chance the group decides to go on a detour for more technical stuff, leave the cars at home but a stock jeep will still make it.

ive been mostly waiting on someone to throw a date out there, and one fella on city profile threw out april 23rd or may 7th. those weekends at least. so those are the two main possibilities for now.

cool, thanks Colton.
I'm planning a trip up to Oregon at some point in the spring but as long as the time frame works out I'm game. (By then I should (hope to) at least have some recovery gear on the jeep, right now I'm without any tow points at all)

I think both of those weekends work for me as well. I'll be heading to Oregon some time in April (not sure when yet...) so my preference would be the later of the two.
