Sooo I thought skyline drive was in bountiful area. Oops. With that being said, I won't be able to make that far of a drive. Maybe next time!

No worries. I'll have to check that one out sometime, see if its gated and such. Might be just as good

My family is dinner is on Xmas eve this year and everyone is coming to my house. It would be a good idea for me to get out of the house to let the better half get the cooking done, but I can't be gone too late. Realistically, what time is the run expected to be done?

Really the trail is so straightforward you could leave anytime you want and not have any trouble getting back to the parking lot and back home from there. It depends on how much snow we run into but i think last time we were up and back to the trailhead in 2-3 hours tops. The first time i went on this trail i left orem, ran the trail, and came back home in 4 hours.

I guess it depends on what time we meet up to go. What time do you need to be back by?

It's a lot easier going downhill through the snow than up, too.

I need to chat with the wife first but I would assume no later than 2pm... Which I think rules this out for me since its at least a 45 minute drive to Gandolfos from Midvale.

Are there any fun places closer to the SL valley?

#Truth. Sorry.

And now I will bow out of this thread as I was just given the death stare for mentioning a hypothetical situation in which I was using my, I mean our, Jeep for the purpose of off road enjoyment on the morning and afternoon of December 24th, 2012.

And to edit again, it's because she wants to come with me the first time we take it off road. :-)
