Man! You are really itching for a Jeep again, huh? You know, lighten the car up a bit, throw some dirt tires on it, and you got yourself one hell of a rally car/desert runner! I would love to see it blasting some dunes and fire roads!

I can't say I haven't considered lifting it an inch, throwing on some A/T's, removing all the unimportant bits of the interior, welding in a cage, and going nuts

Know what? I think you SHOULD! I know you want a Jeep bad, but this would be an AWESOME project that would be sand in the eye of all the kids that own WRX's and Evo's! If I had one of those cars or a Mini, that's exactly what I would do. That would be frickin spectacular! That would just be a blast to drive fast in the dirt. It musta been a blast today!

It really was, and it felt SOLID too. The only thing I was really worried about is rocks plinking off the oil pan, other than that she felt like I could absolutely thrash without a problem.

I would love to make this car rally-prepped, just to show the WRX/EVO crowd what's up.

So, get an engine skid. They make those for GTI's, right? I am really digging the idea of seeing that rocket as a dirt machine. I say do it and name it Dirt Runner!

Ha I was in the market for an old Impreza 2.5 RS to build into a mild rally car.. Then I bout the LJ Rally is one of my passions as well.. Today I tucked the front air dam back under our 08' Impreza from bumping the snow pile in the driveway lol...

So a custom engine/oil pan skid for duff with a mild lift and dirt tires, and a longarm kit for John! Or is it the seat John, maybe a heighth adjustable seat would help you see the snow piles?
