Washi i feel your pain.. I followed some dub with limited slips and 35's up AF canyon and they spun in the dirt making 35" holes before many of the big rocks.. causing me to have to really get on it while sitting on my sliders ha ha the locker is about the only thing that got me through..

Ditto, lcokers FTW! I DO want some more height. But not at the expense of a REALLY tall lift. I am planning on making room for 37's........with no lift.

Clarification, That blue YJ went after you on the the "resting" obstacle... So that little hole is yours. If you want to call that a hole. I wouldn't claim that as being a hole, other wise I could claim I drive through canals every time i cross a gutter! Haha

Anywho, Rich, are you saying you just need an obstacle free trail?

(I really hope you know I'm kidding w/ you... this is all in fun)

Nahhh, he took a different line, and if I remeber correctly, he didn't exactly walk up that obstacle. I beleive there was some predigous spotting, lots of throttle, several line changes, and one hell of a scare for a roll over!

Nah, I like this That trail was wicked, and I am still dumbfounded that I made it tgrough there, with no brakeage! Do you think that it would have been easier if I hadn't aired down?

It would have been sixes. We all had traction problems; yours was compounded by clearance, regardless of deflated tires. If you had about 2-3" of clearance, you would have been fine.

That's what I'm sayin'. I thnk that the deflated tires netted me approx 1.5 to 2" in lost height! I am fairly sure that with that height, I could have made that run, no prob. But I am wondering if the trade off of traction versus height would have been too much?

I don't think you lost that much height bcz of deflating, but it definitely didn't help. It is a trade off, though. However, you did have 2 other people in your rig, which was probably a bigger enemy than deflating.

Ha! TMatt will probably read that wrong! I really think that much was lost though. The stock KM1's were bulging like CRAZY, even in the parking lot. They went FLAT. I will have to measure it, but I am sure that it is around that much.

I think the added traction outweighs the height, i dont think you lose much clearance for the added traction.

Not to mention when the tire is aired down its less prone to punctures.

I dont recall that on this particular obstacle but i do remember the rock after it where my spotter had me put my passenger tire on it and then i slid off of it and almost smashed my diff into pieces.

I run 37's with 4" of lift and I still don't have enough ground clerance
