If fishing wins, I'd love to head to Yuba. My uncle caught a 20+ lb pike there a couple weeks ago. I've never fished Yuba so I'd love to give it a shot.

If we does this terribly far from Davis County, I would suggest moving it to Fri night so some of us can camp and not head home so late on Sat night. Not to make everyone conform to me, but that allows me to bring some of my kids too.

That's not a bad idea. I got home pretty late after the Teraflex g2g a few months back...and this will be another hour away or so.

Oh, and just so you all know, my idea of fishing conforms to Mick Dundee's at the beginning of the 2nd movie...

For those unfamiliar with Crocodile Dundee 2...

I'm down with fishing and grilling.

Just a side note, Yuba Lake is not for those who have a phobia of snakes. We went camping there earlier this summer and ran into 3 or 4 Gopher snakes and a nice sized Rattlensnake.

It's clear where the favs are. So I'm thinking about doing a 2 for 1 here. Spend the day fishing and then have a campfire in the evening/dinner. Cook up the catch of the day maybe? Anyone can forgo the fishing and come just for the fire if they want.
So throw out some lakes we can vote on. Here are some of my suggestions:

Yuba
Utah Lake
Deer Creek
Strawberry
Starvation

Any others you want considered? Keep in mind they need to be reasonably close...

Afc wouldn't be too bad. I was told they stopped charging to go wheeling up there I paid earlier in the season but myself and 5 others didn't get charged this past weekend

I don't think you want to eat the fish from the lakes up there. I heard or read somewhere to limit the intake from the lakes due to mineral deposits and such from the mining.

I will have to look it up.

I would add Jordanelle if we are putting Deer Creek, not that much further and close for some of us Northern guys.

Who said you have to eat them catch and release ! I'm pretty picky when it comes to fish. But I grew up on a costal state with a waterfront house.

Many on here stated they wanted to cook what they caught if the 2 activities were combined.

The date is looking like the 17th of August, so I am out now . Have fun! I'll try again next time.
