Take Back Utah event - August 28th

I know that people are planning to head out to Little Moab this weekend, but if you are not and will be in the city......

Too many of our state land is under federal control. I think I am going to head out to Liberty Park for the parade up to the capital. I think this is a great cause, there will be a rally at the capital with groups of outdoor enthusiasts.

http://www.takebackutah.org/

If you will be there, let me know.
Will

Matt matt matt... Don't you know where all the problems stem from? People use to leave trash everywhere and destroy all the wheeling spots... Giving a lot of the activists Fuel to burn when trying to close down all the awesome land we enjoy in utah. Since then there are some great Groups and Organizations that try their hardest to keep these areas clean and to Show the state that we are serious and that we can take care of these great spots.. Little moab has been known to be full of trash because all the local kids go out there and disrespect our great state making a mess... You should check out Rockymountainextreme.com and read some of the stuff going on. Like the annual rally to clean potato salad hill during jeep safari and people Donate lots so there can be port o pottties and other things to keep the area clean.. That area has been threatened to be closed many many times.. but with the help of some of these groups we have started being better visitors and care takers of this great state... The point of the rally isn't to clean utah.. it's to keep the public use areas open

Sooo my point was that we will do our part to clean up and take care of the area, since we wont be at the rally...

I knew your point, I'm just giving you....trash.

Here's the problem. If you give too much freedom, the irresponsible disrespectful hill-billy redneck trash will completely destroy the beauty of the landscape by tearing it apart with baja'ing off trails, over use, and turning the place into a wasteland of litter, beer cans, toilet paper, and ammunition shells. But then you get too restrictive and are left with a very pretty landscape that no one can enjoy or see. Where the happy medium lies, I honestly have no clue and I'll be surprised if it's even possible. As with almost any political issue, you try to appease one side and the other will suffer.

And I'll have you know I purchased a litter picker-upper for the sole purpose of gathering litter when I go camping/wheeling.

Um....take a good look at those pictures! That was already a road that went up and over that hill! It's just that no vehicle present was able to get up it! If you look at the pics from that day you'll see a picture of Justin at the top because he went the back way and you can clearly see it's not just some random roadless hill. There IS a road/trail that goes right up where we were driving.

Cool stuff, enjoy little Moab. I am sure there will be others from Wheeling clubs, I will try and team up with them.

HOLY BALLS! It's like John and Matt's jeeps hooked up

I would come rally, but I'll be desecrating the landscape.
