I am also in Layton. I am buying my first Jeep. I have had early 80's 4runners before. I am buying a 97 Wrangler that is all stock including 4.0L and auto. Plans are big, but hope to use it as a daily driver and weekend toy.
Edit: Never mind... ended up getting a 2004 WJ instead. More room for the family and dogs.
Ok, my jeep has a long way to go before she is ready for a Medium trail, she is stock right now, but we should meet up sometime and work on our rigs or something, i have a long project list.
I'm in Orem, We like to take an yearly trip down to Moab over Memorial Day Weekend. Been doing that for 20 years now. We have about 8 to 15 families each year. We had a YJ that we lifted and locked. Sold it a couple of years ago. Now just have the WJ with a 2" lift. Enjoy mineral basin up American Fork Canyon, Little Moab on the west side of Utah Lake and any trail in Moab.
Hi! I'm in Salt Lake. Had my first Jeep for about a month. Have NO idea how to off road. I'm quite intimidated, actually--can't afford to break my rig! It's my daily driver, too. Basically I'm interested in being able to take the Jeep on old fire roads or back roads to get to the sweet camping, fishing and hiking spots. Plus, there's nothing like cruising with the top down all summer!
i already beat mine... like a red headed step child i know its not a toyota or TJ but at least i can out wheel a YJ  and for 450 i will buy another XJ when this blows up
only things i have done is a 3 in spring lift and no sways open diffs and 30 in at's future plan is prolly a chry. 8.25 with an aussie locker or if i can find an XJ D44 and then an aussie locker
Yep, I've got a 2" lift and 30" tires. I've only had this XJ for about a month, I sold my other. I'm upgrading to a 3.5" or a 4" soon, and getting some 31" tires. Roof rack and some lights soon, too. I've got D-Shackles on my front bumper and I'm getting on for my rear receiver in the next few days.
Here are some quick pictures of my mostly stock XJ, except for the 2" spacers. If anyone in the Orem area wants to help me out with upgrades, I'd be more than happy to accept the help.
Sunday is no good for me- work stuff, but some friends and I were throwing around the idea of heading somewhere Tuesday morning for a day trip, if anyone wants to come along?
i work a real job  week days don't work for me well it looks like no one else wants to go tomorrow so i have to take it easy and stay near main roads  can't have me getting stuck like last time :umbrella:
I'll call up john(another N UT jeeper from the forums) and see if he wants to come along, i know for a fact he knows some damn fun wheelin spots that are good for day trips
