Moab - Thanksgiving 2013

Now that I have a new job I'm no longer grounded for the first month of every quarter! Therefore I will most likely be able to attend the annual Moab trip the week of Thanksgiving!!

When do you guys usually make your hotel reservations? What are crowds like that weekend?

Not crowded at all, it is a perfect time to hit the trails. We usually reserve our room towards the end of summer.

We'd either head down after all the dinners on TH evening, or Friday morning and coming home Saturday.

That is one I really want to hit up.

We don't know if we are going to stay up here for dinner and head down to Moab afterwards, or go to the Red Cliffs Lodge on thanksgiving. We will likely stay in Moab this year instead of the Lodge though. We really like the lodge, but when you are only there from 10 or 11 pm until 7 am...might as well find another place in town.

Thanks for the reminder...I will reserve a room soon. Archway is pretty well priced, that is where Chris would always stay. I might check into pricing at Hampton Inn.

We have decided that we will have thanksgiving dinner with the in-laws, and then head down to Moab late on thanksgiving. We plan on running trails on Friday and Saturday, and likely some sight seeing in Arches before heading out on Sunday.

Since Hampton is about as expensive as Red Cliffs, I am still trying to decide where to stay. I almost booked a stay at Red Cliffs again because the place is so cool, I just don't want to make the drive up/down the canyon each day to the room.

I may stay at Super 8, it looks like there prices are good. It is on the north end of town, not far from Archway and Hampton. Has anyone else made reservations?

Super 8 is trying to get customers back after their 'remodel' to eliminate their bed bug infestation. Aarchway was always good to us. Reagan would always call and negotiate ~$60 a night.

Have fun down there this fall. Make sure to take a lot of pics so I can live vicariously through you ...
