Moab - June 13-15

We are planning a trip to Moab. We plan to arrive late on June 12th, run trails the 13/14/15th, and return home on the afternoon of the 16th.

With a ton of projects going on this spring, and not being able to make it to Grand Slam (school getting out late), Emmy wanted to make sure we had something on the calendar to look forward to.

Not sure what trails we will hit yet, I would like to try out at least a couple of new ones...Cliffhanger for sure, maybe Flat Iron Mesa or Strike Ravine as well. Maybe even some camping in Canyonlands and exploring around White Rim...What are you doing that weekend?

Better bring plenty of water! And get your permit for the White Rim early.... June shouldn't be too busy, but it there's still plenty of people on the White Rim. Just don't try and do the whole thing in a day. It can be done... but I don't recommend it.

We usually go the weekend before for Grand Slam, so we'll be ready. I agree on the water, we always carry a ton extra. If we did White Rim, I would camp along the way.

Sounds like I am going to Moab! I guess it is time to finally build the front limited slip axle and maybe even wash the mud off from Seven Mile Rim.

A White Rim overnighter sounds like a lot of fun.

Nice, still have mud from seven mile? I remember spending some time under the Jeep to get all that orange goo off.

I am going to do my best to make this trip! I just found out that I will be going to Peru in June, but don't know dates yet.

Cool, we hope you can make it. Where are you headed: Lima, Trujillo, Arequipa?

I'm actually bidding on a Trujillo project right now, but I will be going down to survey in Lima.

Jamaica I'd fun, enjoy. Moab is my paradise though.

Larco Mar is pretty chill, stores in the cliffs overlooking the pacific. It is in Barranco, not far from Miraflores.

If you have time to get out and enjoy the local cuisine... Ceviche (raw fish cooked by the acidity of lime juice), anticuchos (cuts of cow heart that are skewered and grilled), and Carapulcra (dish from Chincha, meat, dried potatoes, peanuts all in a thick stew) are my favorite a Peruvian dishes.

Another one of my Bro's really wants to visit Moab, he hasn't been since before his wedding. He wants to run a few trails in his stock durango (or his Ramcharger if he has it ready in time). I may run fins and another moderate trail with him as well.

I am going to call tomorrow and make reservations at Oasis.
