Did you figure out what was going in w/ your cj? Whatever happened, I'm wondering if it was contagious, I've got a really bad vibration now (driveline...? Steering u-joint...? I don't know!) grrrrr

Case wasn't fully engaging because it was hitting the transmission tunnel so I did all of rattlesnake in fwd, I'm cutting it back a bit more today and my shift kit again but I would check the ujoints after you air the tires back up if there bad replace all

Should be proud! All fwd, that's a testament to skill. Next thing we know, you'll be trying rattlesnake in a honda!

*note: I've replaced both ujoints in rear driveline, wondering if it's possible a rear wheel out of balance would create a vibe like that? It's a thought that my OBA may have bypassed some grease in my tire. Kicking all options before I dig into front driveline and steering u joints.

I think rear should be a 35, and stock I think (I may be wrong) is 3.55 gearing. It seemed to have a lot of excess play from my experience turning one wheel to spin the opposite. General concensus on the other forum points at a pinion bearing as a possible source of the vibe. But they say it should have a noise. I don't have a noise (other than standard tj noises). I'm thinking if I could get a decent deal on a locker, it may be salvageable to rebuild.

And yes, pepboys isn't the competition, we are the alternative. (No, I won't have them do my work, when I'm fully capable) I've just never rebuilt an axle yet.
