Lights...

Has anyone here tried this before?

I want to find some super cheap housings somewhere, and by HID kits and upgrade them. Is this pretty feasible? I figure I could do this for about $25 a light, maybe less.

Light housings are like paint prep. The better you start out with, the better the end result is.

If you start with crap, you will have crap. Just ask anyone who still has stock ZJ headlights. Or a Dodge Neon...

No matter how good of bulbs you put in a crappy housing/reflector, you will always have ****ty output from them.

If you are thinking about going HID you better read up on how HID's work vs Halogen Lights and do a Retrofit

This site has great info :

Sorry I didn't really explain myself very well last night...

I'm not not talking about retrofitting headlights, These would be offroad only lights, so beam pattern isn't that important. I'm just thinking of a cheap way to get a lot of light offroad.

By time you buy cheap lights and the hid kit for them your better off buying some hid offroad lights from crawlerready if he still has any left.

I actually sent him a message but sounds like he's out..

What other options are there? All I'm wanting to do right now is replace the stock fogs on the bumper and do a couple windshield mounted

Hella E-Codes have the perfect cutoff so you wont blind people in front of you. Very popular housing for HID conversions. I have the housings with some white xenon H4's. I dont have the need for HID's yet.
