Help me choose my next tire!
I have decided that my next purchase will be tires and wheels. I have decided to go with 15's and some 35's. I know that everyone likes the Kevlars and BFG's, but I am thinking about going with something else. I have experience withe Maxxis Bighorns and loved them. They were strong, durable, provided a great on road ride, excellent offroad, and traction on any type of surface. They are a MT, but to me, they are and actual all terrain tire because they go through anything. I am also considering others based on reputation and reviews. Let me know what you think!

Have you looked at the General Grabber MT's? I still haven't seen a comprehensive review on them yet, but they appear to have potential and not everyone is running them. I am in the market for the same size...

Yeah, but everything I have read indicates that they are great for dirt and dirt running, but maybe not so good in mud and snow. That is what I have read anyway for all General tires. Great for desert running. Ineed something that is good in mud and snow. I do like them though, and would probably run a set of their AT's on a DD for snow and rain, but I want something for trail. I know that the Maxxis' are very stout and durable. Dunno, right now I am leaning towards the Trepadors, Bighorns, and Growlers. Good suggestion though!

Too bad you're going as large as 35" or I'd suggest Treadwrights.
I know when I need to replace my Bridgestones that's where I'm going.

Well, I want the trepador's real bad but I had to vote for the bighorns because I think they will be a Better all around tire for u. And will be easier for a good tire rotation which talking to you, seems like something u like to do correctly..

Will 15 inch wheels clear the brakes on a JK?

i this so if they are steel..
If you get a 15"x8" Steel wheel with 4" or less backspacing, it will fit on a WJ and the front breaks are bigger on them..

Clearance is a slight concern, however 15's will fit. I believe the usual accepted backspacing for a JK is 3.75 or less, though I will have to do some research. Also, the usual fix is to grind a little off the front calipers as that is where you will have rub issues. There are several documented wheels that fit no issue though. I will probably end running steel, at first anyway, just for monies sake. When the budget allows I will most likely run alloys again. They are just lighter and stronger and better in every way.

But u probably won't be able to run an aluminum 15 if a steel one barely fits..

I think ToMatto was gonna get these before he landed the deal on the KM2's.
