So to get a CWP you just take a class, fill out an app, pay a fee, and you're in the club?

As far as open carry goes, you just have to have the gun in plain view, unloaded, and can't go into a secured area right? So if you walk into a gas station with a gun on your belt no one can legally tackle you as long as it stays on your belt?

What's a good handgun for shooting a million rounds through for fun?

Yep. Some classes require a range test (shooting like 2 rounds, changing mags, and shooting 2 more) but the state doesn't require it.

Yep. Keep in mind that "unloaded" in Utah is not the same as California. In CA, you can't even have a mag in the gun (if it's a semi-auto) where in UT you can have a full mag in your gun, but you can't have one in the chamber. Technically unloaded = at least 2 actions from firing, so with your semi-auto, racking the slide to chamber a round = 1 action and releasing the safety = 2 actions. If you have a CWP, you can open carry loaded.

That's a sweet looking gun Tom.

Cool, thanks Andy.

Well, I was looking for something along the lines of a 22 for a recreational shooter.

I have a Walther P22 that I have a lot of fun with.

I've heard these can be hit or miss. Mine has performed flawlessly for ~1,000 rounds or so. It'll eat anything I throw at it. On the other hand, my buddy has one also that he bought used and I think he got a lemon. He's had to order a part or 2 from Walther to get it half way reliable (parts took weeks to arrive, if not months), and it's very picky about ammo.

Sig makes another semi-auto called the Mosquito, but I don't know much about it. One day I'd like to get a .22 revolver. I think that would be fun for plinking and revolvers seem to be stupid reliable.

My buddy has that gun. He loves it, and i beg him to let me shoot it. He is 6'5" tall and couldn't find a gun to fit comfortably in his hands until he bought this one. It also works well for someone of average sized hands. Will be my next handgun purchase to carry.

I had one in Minnesota. Kick myself in the *** every weekend since for selling it.

I put well over 1,000 rounds through it and it never gave me a spot of trouble. Even with the aftermarket 30 round clip.

I used to prune my trees out there with it. With a 4X scope on top I could put 10 rounds in the same hole at 25 yards.
Gotta remember my old *** eyes can't see **** at 25 yards. You're lucky if I can tell the difference between a Pepsi can and a Coke can at that distance.
