Gun show this weekend?

We (the fam and I) are going to be in Orem for the weekend hanging out with in-laws etc. There's a gun show in Sandy on Saturday and Sunday and I thought it might be fun to wander around on Saturday afternoon. Anyone wanna join me for the circus that is the Crossroads of the West show?

For the record this invitation is not to be interpreted as a replacement for the official April social or wheeling trip

I would Andy, but since this has nothing to do with Jeeps, I respectfully decline your invitation.

kidding, kidding, kidding.

I've been to the crossroads before, it's a pretty fun show. I'd go, but spending money right now would be a bad thing.

I have been in the market for a new hand gun, so this is a possibility. My list of things to do for Saturday keeps growing.

^ Plastic no safety pistols that shoot their owners as much as they shoot down range FTW!!!! Oh, wait, nevermind. I will stick to my GI Spec 1911 .45 and Pearl Handle 1848 Colt Navy. I like the old better!

If you want a Springfield XD 4" in .40 with nightsites and a few goodies, I have one for sale as of today. I'll list it in the UJC Classifieds...

I am sort of looking in to a smaller, easier to conceal gun this time around. I had my sights set on a Sig P238, cuz I liked the mini 1911 look. They are sort of pricey though. Do you guys have any suggestions on maybe a cheaper .380 that is a little better priced? Heck any suggestions on smaller 9mm or .40?

Not sure on the price of the Sig, but almost any smaller 1911 platform is going to be pricey I look pretty closely at several as well... Springfield EMP, Kimber Ultra Carry II, etc. I may still get one of those some day, but I decided to pass based on price as well.

I'm not a very big guy, so when I was looking for a conceal gun I was looking for subcompacts too. I have that service size XD40, so I looked at an XD subcompact in .40 as well as a comparable Glock. Height and length were no problem, but the double stack mags made them pretty wide and bulky IMO. I handled and shot both, but they seemed fat and stocky for my smallish hands. It's weird because I imagine my XD has the same size grips and stuff

Anyway, I finally settled on a Kahr PM40 for carry. The thing is tiny and has a single stack mag, so it's very thin as well. It basically disappears on my body when I wear it inside waistband. If we end up crossing paths this weekend either wheeling Little Moab or hitting the gun show you're welcome to take a closer look at it.
