Af canyon closed 7/7

Hey guys just FYI the canyon is closed today and I'm not sure when it will reopen. I camped overnight and on my way out there were 3 rockslides. These things are massive.

Not that I saw but it was sketchy. Cars swerving and decent sized rocks I pulled out of the way

Yeah, I'm not a fan of slides. My dad was one of the first people on scene for the Hope, BC slide in 1965. He told me stories about it that still give me chills, especially after I narrowly missed a mud/rock slide up in Yukon in 1983. I also watched a slide wipe a small village off the map during the Mt Pinatubo eruption in the Philippines. Luckily everyone had been evacuated already.

Not something you want to face down. Glad everyone made it out ok.

In California about a year or so ago, I went on a hike up to a water fall where there had been a rockslide a few weeks previously. Some poor soul got crushed; and I saw some of the most profound graffiti I'd ever seen.

"Water falls
Rocks slide
Life fades away."

Kinda chilling.

"You're out of your mind."
"That's between me and my mind."

Just got a text that crews are responding to a Helicopter crash at Tibble Fork in AF canyon. Busy place lately.
