About ready to sell it

Ok I'm at my wits end. Can't get the CJ to run good. Did the nutter today and it didn't seen to help at all. It has terrible throttle response and seems like there is no vacuum advance. It is acting the same as before I started. Any suggestions on where to go from here?

On my old 74 CJ-5 I had the 258 and it was running like crap. Backfiring every time I left off the gas, incomplete burn on hard acceleration, idled like a race car.

Turned out the distributor shaft bearings were shot and the shaft was wobbling around inside the housing.
