Anyone interested in heading out to 5 mile pass this Saturday? I think i'm going to take my lazy rig out to stretch its legs.

5 Mile is BLM land. It might be closed with the rest of the government. I would say if there aren't signs or barricades to just go for it. However, I just heard on the radio that if any of the limited staff left working for the fed find you, they can still issue a $200-300 ticket. It may not be an issue at all, but I would check into it.

I highly doubt 5 mile is closed especially considering AFC is open and it would be easier to close then 5mile.

BLM land isn't closed during the shutdown. Last I read anyway.

Edit: I guess some is closed while 245 million acres are still open... I doubt 5 mile falls in the closed category

Rattlesnake is pretty mild. You won't have a problem there. Its basically driving up a smallish canyon, when there is an obstacle there is room on the other side to go around it if you didn't want to try. Constrictor is at the top and is a gnarly but again, that is at the top. Wayne's World is tuff but there is a bypass as well. I broke by radiator on the bypass but that was for another reason. I had loose body mounts and as I was going up the steep-ish hill momentum pulled the body and radiator backwards into the fan. I had just bought it and it was the first wheeling trip.

alright Rattlesnake sounds pretty good, i'm just worried about the obstacles on constrictor... i have a 3 inch lift on 35's, but i'm not looking to beat the hell out of my jeep. it sounds like there are lots of by passes on constrictor, true? I guess what i'm really worried about is coming to something that i cannot do and it not having a by pass...

Rattlesnake will be fine. Constrictor is worse than mineral basin so I would say avoid that.

Main reason. There is almost nowhere to turn around if you get in a bad spot you don't want to do. That leaves you with backing out(if you can).
