Does anyone have an idea what the snow will be like on the trail as far as hidden obstacles? I've driven this trail before but I've never wheeled in the winter.

You will be fine. Usually there is enough traffic out there that the trail is pretty obvious as well as obstacles. If you really are concerned id say just have a built rig go first and he can find any surprises With how many people are going on this trip i dont imagine you will have any issues. Keep an eye out for potholes on those mine tailings at the end of rattlesnake though. I could see someone sinking into one of those.

It was a Jeep thing, but all that stuff broke

Personally I think the trail is easier in the snow... the snow packs down and makes the obstacles smaller.. ive ran this trail in over 12" of fresh snow in a much less set up S10 and did just fine.

The pothole was filled in about a month ago, I agree with what your saying last winter I took my little Xj and followed Braden's monster with no issues since he plowed the way I can give a trail update on New Year's Day since i have a group going out then and dirt hedz is also gonna be there so it'll get packed down

During the Boar run there were trenches cut into all the tailings climb. Trenches that swallowed up my whole front end. It was way sketchy and i believe it was after we had alot of rainfall. Made the pothole at the top look like nothing. Sounds like those may have been filled in then if you hadnt noticed them last you were out.

We have a new local Jeeper up in ogden. He was interested in buying my LJ but wound up buying an identical LJ out of Georgia. It won't be up here for the Jan 4th run but I invited him for the next outing and onto the forums
