Doing potosi mine Sunday. Next week is the gun show, but trying for shooting next weekend- this week is bad for everyone fir shooting. If you can wait till net Sunday we can organize a shoot then!

Because this weekend couldn't work for just about everyone, we will be shooting next Sunday morning. We will meet on the southwest corner across from the m resort. As it gets closer I'll post the time we will arrive, wait, and head to the location. All responsible shooters welcome. Nothing illegal or irresponsible will be tolerated, ie no glass bottles, fire, unregistered firearms, etc.

Where for you guts go shooting? Is it on south Vegas blvd, couple miles south of the M ?

Thats sort of where we go, we go to mile marker 12-13 and turn off onto a road, then into the desert. There are 5-6 spots to park and shoot into a mountain.

Not anymore, too many yahoo's out there, shooting all close to the road, and a ton of trash too.
Its better if you go further and go out by the light sand pits, much cleaner, better area and it has more "designated" shooting areas that are more defined and help keep people a safe distance from you.
These days I go out towards searchlight, hardly any people out there, and no trash, but i pack out what i pack in.
Used to go to Lovell Canyon too, but not any good places out there to shoot more than 100 yards max, if that.

Yeah, you have to be something like 1000' from a paved road or structure! Those guys pull eight off the blvd and start shooting. Idiots!

I've read about this area on various sites. There was a sniper competition there at one time.

Yeah, mike I got it and we can try for sometime Friday, got lots going on, but we can try. Sorry I didn't get to you earlier, really busy yesterday. Ysb, you are right, but where we go is a little farther north, it's near a rhyolite mine. There's a paved road where the illegal races used to be on the east side of the blvd.

This Sunday we are running the potosi mine trail and exploring. We will meet at the Starbucks at 8164 las Vegas blvd s. It's at blue diamond, technically windmill. Meet at 9, leave by around 930ish. See you all then
