I'm considering black canyon to the river or mojave trail on Saturday. It's the last sub-90 Saturday for a while I think. Anyone interested in either?

B-52 or B-29?

I believe the plane at the bottom of Lake Mead is a B-29, not a BUFF.

Yeah, it's a b29. From what I've read, the ax act location hasn't been made public, but is open to dives. It's between 150-180' down! Pretty deep I would think.

If you're diving into a salt mine, is it still a freshwater dive?

There is no entry fee at Great Basin NP, only for camping $14/night I think, and I forget how much a ticket is for Lehman caves. Well worth it though, I've been through the caves a few times. Lots of creeks, but you have to hike to any lakes, my favorite is the top of Wheeler peak, 13000' one heck of a view from there!

And if anyone goes to Great Basin make sure you tell the locals you oppose the SNWA pipeline. That dumb idea could be the death of that whole area.

Nice I like the old FJ's. When I was in the AF one if the guys in the squadron had one up on 37's and he was all of about 5 foot tall. It was pretty funny, but such a nice rig.

YSB, there's quite a few little roads running down to the river east of nelson but nothing super exciting. It is a desert we live in you know that right?

Up 93 near Alamo is Pahranagat upper and lower lakes but I've never stopped. They don't look that exciting to me. There's too much way cooler stuff to explore within an hour north of them. I know where there's a pretty cool hot spring fed pond up there right outside Panaca that's low 80's water temp year round. Also a pretty neat canyon to drive thru with an old rail road base going thru it. Small sand dune area. All the old mining towns up there, etc... It's more of a weekend thing though and not really a day run place in my opinion.

Power, if you haven't done burro wash it's worth it once but in my opinion the road from the whoops to where you actually drop into the wash is just too rocky and jittery to be pleasurable. It's just endless softball sized rocks to rattle you to death. Mojave road has some awesome sections depending which you're planning to do. There's lots of info online of side trips and side trails off the main mojave road... Those are what makes it such a great trail. The mojave road itself really isn't that exciting other then it's bits and pieces. If you ever are at the mailbox make sure to walk into the desert about 100-150 feet past the mail box and look at the random trinket collections like the frogs and the turtles. LOL, you'll know what I'm talking about if you're ever there!

I'm possibly taking my truck out to Dumont to run it for some show being filmed for history channel on Sat. Not 100% sure... I'm waiting to hear back from the friend that's organizing it to see if they really still need more vehicles for filming. If not I'll probably be at home fixing one vehicle or another.

I had the jeep in the garage yesterday with plans to drop the tcase after work but a busted coolant line on my car yesterday on my way home trumped that project. So I'm thinking probably tonight I'll drop the tcase now instead. LOL

Pahranagat lake is pretty boring. I've fished it a few time with my grandpa, we go up there quite a bit because he lives in caliente. Echo lake is up a little further but is good for fishing trout. Lots of ghost towns out there though.
