Mint 400 question

Does anyone know if I need tickets to watch the race? I looked on the official website and couldn't find anything about tickets but one of my co-workers said they thought that you had to have tickets and they are sold out. Thanks!

No tickets, just need to get there early enough to find someplace in one of the 4 spectator areas to watch. Spectator 4 will most likely be the best spot. Spectator 2 might be cool or might be a bust, the gravel pit is new this year so not sure what the terrain and view will be there. Spectator 1 will be decent. Don't waste your time with spectator 3.

I've got a huge gripe with the Mint personally that I won't go into here but honestly, most the info is found on www.bitd.com rather then the Mint webpage which makes me wonder, is the focus on the race or all the fluff surrounding the race and trying to make money on the name rather then the race itself... I'll leave it at that cause if all you know is www.themint400.com other then a tiny spot in the schedule on sat for the race, maybe I'm blind but feel free to find any details about the race. What's nuts is this year is better then the previous! Last year the info wasn't posted anywhere. You just had to know where to go.

Here I'll save you a little...

Spectator rules and directions are on 2 pdfs in this long list of race info here.

http://www.bitd.com/best-in-the-dese...formation.html

And there's a pdf map of the spectator areas and whole course on the bottom link about mid page here.

I have to agree the official page was worthless for race info. I definitely got the feeling the race it's self was the least important aspect of the event.

BTW sirhk100 I tried to PM you earlier and your inbox was full.

Thanks for all the info!!
