Nevada Backroaders - a good group for family fun, lots of different rigs, no alcohol, just people enjoying the outdoors. they have some overnight trips also

It's a club for Wrangler owners although others can tag along once in a while. They are mostly for beginners and others that are content to run on level 1-2 of 5 trails the majority of the time. Many of the trails that they run are great fun and often contain a lot of history or scenic aspects. A good example was a recent overnight run to the north rim of the Grand Canyon. We had a great time but never put our Jeep into 4WD. Once in a while they may hit trails with a little more difficulty but they really want to focus on owners of new Wranglers, people with less experience and or perhaps less of a desire to challenge themselves or their equipment. Having Chapmans as a sponsor is a real treat and is appreciated by all. They often provide refreshments and or some meals on the runs and it has been great to be active with this group even though I like tougher trails too. This is a great group for someone new to four wheeling and there is no reason that you have to choose between one club or group when you can check them all out for the best fit for you. The Vegas Valley Four Wheelers is another great group with a lot of history but I think it's fair to say that the trails we frequent tend to be a bit more challenging for the most part and having bigger tires, a suspension lift & lockers are something you will soon feel a need for with this club.

The Desert Wranglers have monthly meetings at Chapman's Jeep at the Auto Mall in Henderson and the next one is this evening at 6:30 PM (today being Thursday August 11th,2011) Check it out everyone is welcome.

Good Point, everyone is welcome to attend a meeting or go on an unofficial run (Fun run) but if you want to join them on one of their regular runs then you need to beg, borrow or steal a Wrangler. It may be safer to just ride along with a member.
