Yeah, but it's usually foul!

Screw it them let's just go to your house. The more I think of it from what I hear the better it would be to relax in comfort rather than have 105* heat, stagnant water, bugs, and a long drive.

I think a reschedule might be better too. Next weekend is looking a little cooler on the 10 day forecast. Or we can just play it by ear and see what happens. My wife feels better about not being on a bumpy road right now anyway. So, let's just do the BBQ at the house. Start at say...3ish?

There's gotta be some golf courses and illegal washes between your house and mine I can cruise down to get over hopefully if I make it! I'll try to plot the most illegal route possible! Any toll roads in vegas I can take too?

I am going by what you all are saying. I had envisioned the lake as being a little paradise. If it's as gross as you say then we should have planned this when it was colder or someplace else. I don't want to go to water that is rancid.

It's not all bad. It's sometimes a craps shoot whether or not it's clean and/or stinky. Sometimes there's nasty green stuff, other times it's sparkly clear. I would wager that it's cleaner near the river or in the middle, away from all the ghetto trash fools. If we could come up with a boat, it would be way more awesome. Boats are expensive though, even to rent. It's up to you guys though. I know that every time I've been to the lake, there are swarms of gnats, and I hate breathing bugs.

Lake Mojave isn't as crowded/dirty sometimes.. You could always consider that option

You guys should check out Fire Mountain Cove near Nelson. Check out my blog for GPS info. It's not a challenge, but it's an interesting drive and difficult enough that you don't get as many people, but the water's been great every time I've gone and it's never crowded.

A run into the mountains is always better than a run to the lake.

we have fun at both, what we really need is a lake in the mountains.

I second that. I love me some alpine lakes!
