Firing Pin safety, like in a series 80, or a kimber (nether 70 nor 80). Basically a firing pin disconnect.

Full Length guide rod. Some guns have em, some don't. Some advantages, some dis advantages.

Some kimbers use a captive recoil spring, Terry's does. He was having failure to feed issues (wouldnt go into battery) Kimber told him every 800 rounds you need to replace the springs inside there. He did and now it works 100% again.

Kinda what I thought. Gun is super well built and I've shot it before, shoots great. I think his is a little bit older, not sure when it was purchased.

A friend mentioned that someone at Bass Pro gun counter said that NV CCW's are limited to the firearms listed on the permit itself. My understanding is that the new ones no longer list the firearms AND that you can carry either a revolver or semi-auto with one, while the older ones limit to the type of firearm you qualified with (revolver or semi) and although they list specific firearms that you qualified with, you can carry any of that type.

Am I wrong or is the Bass Pro dude wrong? I haven't seen or had to renew to the latest style of CCW yet so I am not sure.

The really old NV CCW require you to qualify with each specific firearm.

The not so old ones require you to qualify with either a revolver or semi-auto

And if I remember correctly they just passed a law that is valid for any firearm, revolver or semi-auto.

I did my CCW in Dec.2012...received the actual license in May 2013 and my permit shows:

Revolvers Authorized
Semi-Autos Authorized

I do remember the instructor basically saying to me after I qualified with the semi....."I am confident that you can handle and fire a revolver correct" and when I answered yes, he did "fill-in" that spot on the documents. Now those that looked at him funny, he pulled out a revolver, made them load, fire, and unload one.

The Utah one doesn't specify

I know they are ramping up pushing for a states ccw be recognized in every state. We will see if that ever happens.

Bass pro dude is wrong! I have a ccw that lists the firearms allowed. I called metro and confirmed that I can carry ANY semi auto because the firearms listed on my ccw are semi autos. I didn't quality with a revolver, so I can't carry a revolver. The law changed from listing individual guns to allowing all of that type.

Correct.

As long as you had "revolvers authorized" and any given semi auto, you can carry any revolver and any semi auto. Mine lists revolvers and a random 1911 i dont own anymore, so im good to carry anyfing i want.

Florida CCWL allows for simi and revolvers, knives, clubs, stun gun, pepper spray, and any combinations of these weapons.
