LOL
I just realized the XJ has the hood channel in the middle..won't fit. Maybe I'll stop by and take a look at the race truck.

Awesome! I'll get you back somehow. I'm out of town this weekend, but I'm sure I'll be able to catch up with you sometime.

I only ask because over here in Alabama, I can get a box of 5.56 for about $9 a box, and 7.62 for something like $6 a box, both without a box limit at Academy Sporting Goods

Do any of you guys have any experience with shoulder holsters? I've been looking at getting one for my 1911 but I don't really know what to look for.

all I know is you need to go good or go home.

Anything that is not a high quality (read: expensive) shoulder holster will be crummy and uncomfortable and you'll never wear it.

I have heard that from a NUMBER of people.

I have heard very good things about andrews custom leather. Check out the monarch. $250

I wore a relatively inexpensive one on and off for a year or two with a 96fs and it was pretty comfortable once I got it adjusted right. I think I spent under $30 for it

I wore one everyday for six months in Afghanistan carrying a 92FS. I second what Marn said. A good quality one is a must. One that has the incorrect geometry is a pain. Mine was made for me by an Afghani leather worker on base. When I left, I gave it to an Army friend who had it re-worked by the same leather worker to fit him.
