I am looking for some parts to build a couple of AR-15 rifles, I really need 1 or 2 stripped lowers this week if possible to get started with a Christmas gift. I can pick up in Pahrump or Vegas and I have a CCW.

I picked up a Colt AR for my wife for Christmas. After I gave it to her I told her I would swap out the factory stock and pistol grip. I went to Urban Civil Defense as it is right down the road from me and they only had FDE Magpul stocks. I decided I'd go FDE on my Stag AR and would swap my stock and pistol grip to her Colt.

Well I today was a good day. My guns came in from VA and New Frontier had a LPK for the polymer lower that I have had for a few years now. The LPK was easier to install then I had guessed. I just need to get the rest of it and I will be golden.

Hey Terry, I was looking at your AR pictured above... correct me if I am wrong but you are a lefty and your lower is set up for a righty... how much of a pain is it flipping the safety? and here comes the bs line... my finger is my safety!! I only ask because I have to build this one up for the wife who is a lefty

The Stag has an ambi safety. While the upper is a lefty with brass being kicked out the left side, the lower is basically right handed. With the exception of the ambi safety, the bolt and mag releases remain in the same place. This I don't mind because it doesn't change the ergonomics and muscle memory transfers when I pick up a standard AR. The biggest issues for lefties shooting ARs is the brass and gas across the face.

Usually not a problem for Terry though as he loves gas in his face, or so Chris told me! Haha

so for you dorks on Neveda Shooters, is there anything special that I have to do to activate my account? Some secret hand shake or something? I replied to the email confirming my email address and it still has me in a pending status. Sorta annoying. I can login and look through most of the forum, minus the classifieds. But i cannot post anything anywhere.

I think someone has to actually approve your request and it can take a day or 2. From what I remember though. I could be wrong.

Can't go wrong with the Troy sights. I believe they have an offset set that works well with an optic. Essentially, when not looking through the optic, the rifle is rotated slightly to the side and the irons line up.

The difference between stupidity and ignorance. Ignorance is doing something wrong and not knowing better. Stupidity is knowing better, but doing it anyway. Don't be stupid!

I was thinking about picking up some Troy as its a name that is known.

I'm building my first AR so I'm looking for opinions.
