So the jeep is at firestone getting aligned. The dude calls me and tells me that the right front tire is out of balance by .5 oz... do I want to have them all balanced. It is an all terrain tire... half an ounce is trivial. The tire is already chunking in some places... and it is not like it is going to stop any time soon. Second, how did you know it was half an ounce off unless you took it off and put it on the balancer? Which as that point the half an ounce would cost them maybe a nickle to add really quick. Either that or they did not do anything and the tech's eyes have been calibrated by NASA and he can just tell that the wheel needs to be balanced.

Daily ***** session done for now.

My guess is that he DID put the tires on a balancer to compliment the alignment then make the adjustment....if they did any adjustment at all. I never trust any shops unless I can stand right there and do it myself or watch them do it. 9 times out of 10, I know more than the "tech" does and they hate it when I call them out on thier BS. It makes me sick knowing all the people who get ripped off by automotive places. I'm pretty sure the last guy who tried to pull one over on my wife nearly crapped his pants when I showed up and chewed him a new one and his manager...and so on.

That sounds just like a goodyear place in the cali. My girls parents found a nissian frontier for her in cali cheap from a military couple that had to get stationed across country and didnt need the truck. All it needed was that ac fixed. They just started replacing parts, compressor 800, condensor 300, and so on. We go to pick it up and it cuts out half way here. They tell us to take it to a goodyear place in vegas. So we did and they replaced something else and still didnt work right. I look online and its a known problem there is a thero switch inside the cab hooked to the heatercore fins. I go to the dealer and pick it up $40 and took 15min to put in. The ac worked perfect. So i called the shop and *****ed them out for one not fixing it and two way over charging her parents. They started *****ing at me when i called them out for replacing perfectly good parts because of a known 40 dollar part and even over charging by 400% on the parts. They didnt wanna listen to me over the phone and hung up so i took my 6'4" 300lb *** down to the shop and boy did they listen then lol i had coustomers walking out and some asking for their keys.

Hey guys Havent been on in forever... life has takin an unexpected twist. Just got divorced and i am moving to colorado at the end of the month. So i took the jeep out on one last goodbye nevada run over red rock and the results where disasterous. first hard climb i engaged 4wd and somehow my front knuckle u joint locked on my ball joint chucking my front driveshaft. after that the results being to far in to turn around where horrid. doing everything i could to get the jeep through it in 2wd took its tole on the jeep. nothing major was broken just wiring issues arose hung the muffler up ripping the exhaust off. all gauges started acting irradict. i still drove it home from pahrump with no issues. i have decided to leave it behind and am offering it for 1000 obo http://lasvegas.craigslist.org/cto/3021187311.html i am very negotiable at this point so dont be afraid to throw a price out there i have no idea what its worth i just know the spare t-176 hard top and full hard doors are worth about that so any crituque on the price is not going to be taken bad thanks guys and happy wheeling )

Thanks for the well wishes, men, I'm home again, but had to sign myself out AMA (Against Medical Advice). Leaving like that didn't make anyone at the hospital or my wife happy at all. I've been through this before. I am aware enough to know when I'm in trouble and when that trouble is over. I'll feel much worse when this set of bills starts to arrive. Just feeling really tired and my head is in the middle of a drum solo.

Surriously, and tuesday night a pedestrian was killed by a druink driver on flamingo and nellis.

Also last night 3 people were stabbed. One on Mtn Vista and Ramrod, one on Mtn Vista and Trop, and one on Trop and Nellis.

I've been a busy man.

On a related note. This is why I carry.

On another related note....I dislike living in the ghetto.

Surpassed 50 I would think it's closer to 60 for auto related deaths so far this year.

so what actually happened? Did your problems just flare up or was it something specific?

I never trust new mechanics. New ones have no connection to you and if they're dishonest, those are the ones that will steal from you. Make friends with a mechanic. Build a relationship and they'll treat you better.

I was an investor is a speed shop in Florida. While the mechs and techs did great work, they were also paid a commission for upgrades they sold to customers. They weren't outright thieves, but many of the products sold didn't do what the manufacturer claimed.

There was never an instance of charging for work not completed. I think that happens a lot in oil changing places.

Reminds me of these guys.
