I put the top back on the jeep with the temps getting higher... dang kids. I even washed it too. It just feels strange now with it clean and having the top on.

In my world, the higher temps are all the more reason to have the top off!

I used to hate driving down the highway at 65mph when it was 100+ out.

Requires you to have the doors off. my hearing seriously isnt all that great anymore, and i blame it on countless hours of driving with the doors and top off the jeep because it was so hot out.

Theres not a whole lost much worse for your ears than the wind constantly bashing them.

The better question is:

What did you break in your rear end?

lol if this is a serious question then I didn't open it up yet because I don't have the means to repair it at the moment. I am debating on getting a whole replacement rear as Vegas says they are 150 bucks. I know for a fact it is a bearing noise. It sounds just like pitted steel balls in a can. Repairing it maybe in the ball park of 300 or so maybe more depending on the extent of the damage. Putting in another axle is a lot of work though and even then it's used so no telling what kind of mileage I will get out of it until it does the same thing.

I would love to get an 8.8 but welding the bracketry is out of my league and buying it is expensive so sticking with the D44a as for now.

I still need it to drive to the gym and other short distances until then. Won't do me any good if its apart. I just want to keep from totally trashing it.

I am leaning towards sticking with the "known knowns" and repairing what I have. I would be venturing into the "known unknowns" with another axle. I learned that from Rummy.
