Ive been just as excited as everyone else with the so called "muscle car era" coming back. It's good to see the big three at it again. What is better is finally seeing American auto makers make some great cars. Better late then never. I still wish GM wouldn't have axed the Pontiac brand. I know they were the same cars built on the same chassis but they did bring it with the power. One day I will own a new fast car, but there is nothing better then pulling up to a wanna be d-bag with an ugly primer grey civic with a coffee can for an exhaust, and blowing by him in an ugly old 71 3/4 Chevy truck with a hot small block.

fast cars are fun. I always wanted to get either a chevy II nova or an early 80's malibu and just build the snot out of it. Complete sleeper style of course. There are tons of fast cars out there and everyone tries to make them look fast too. Screw that, I want an old car that looks like a beater and just build it up. I am sure the #'s are up now, but I remember the banks turbo kit on a stock sbc would put down around 700 hp and with a built lower end and heads 1000 hp was obtainable on pump gas.

....and you can get stroker kits for just about anything now. I was gonna do a 340 stroker to 426cid. Then use a pro charger supercharger to 12psi on edelbrock or Indy heads with the keisler 6sp with 411 gears in a 71 demon. Should have been good for high 10s-low 11s in the quarter...on pump gas! Technology has finally made crazy numbers attainable. That combo would have been in the 600-700hp range and has been published as having those numbers.

My go fast car was a 91' 300zx twin turbo. I had work done at Jim Wolf technology's shop in San Diego. Full Blitz exhaust, JW 700r dual bb turbos, 750cc injectors, JW ECU w/2step rev limiter, Wally 250 fuel pump, Stillin side mount intercoolers. stock block-heads no cams. 506 HP @ 25psi on 91- 588 @ 29 psi on 100 Oct. only driveline mods were an Exedy twin clutch and cusco rear limited slip. it also had Tein coil overs, Skyline R32 calipers and rotors front and rear. Many fun times were found in that car. Fastest I have been was I dont know because the Speedo stoped moving at 160 and I was still pulling hard. I estimate it at 180ish..

I've seen turbo kits for the 4.0, but have honestly never been anywhere that I felt I needed more power. Granted, I've yet to be in the sand or mud, but it's a different animal. Kinda like drag racing vs road course. Different power bands required. I'm completely happy with mad low end torque for rock crawling. If I wanna go fast on dunes, sand rail is where I think it would be.

Side note-had a buddy who had a buddy story. If people don't remember pinkys, it was right across from the rio on flamingo. Guy worked there and lived in good springs. Would get off work at midnight, and be at the jean exit in 11 minutes on a turbo Busa! I never saw the bike, but it would have to be upwards of 220-240mph sustained to make that trip that fast. I've seen YouTube videos of turbo busas doing throttle roll-on wheelies in fifth gear, so I guess it's possible.

My old 89 YJ with the 4.2 did fine in the sand. Air down to 10 psi and 4hi it all over the dunes (unless it was a BIG dune).

Good morning homos. The AC people called about my house on the east coast so I'm up early. Stupid east coast people. Here is a pic of my nano salt water tank with some corals. The stupid damsel is hiding. I am going to put a mantis shrimp in it.

Endurocross is tonight at orleans arena, Silver State 300 is tomorrow up north, Supercross finals are tomorrow night, mini moto races are Sunday night. So yeah, there's some dirt stuff going on this weekend. Of all of that, I'll be at endurocross for sure tonight. Skipping everything else. I'm camping tomorrow night.

For the record, I've never had a fast car. My current 100% stock N/A mazda 3 is probably my fastest car ever. It does 100mph on the salt and gets me 30mpg I know that... LOL It's for sale! I wanna replace it with something slower, smoother riding, diesel and 50mpg.

I've never understood fast cars. People driving fast on the streets have always been total loosers in my eye and not impressive. If you have a fast car, take it to a track and prove it rather then being a dweeb on the streets! Go actually enter a real race rather then showing off to the highschool kids.

I feel the same way with street bikes. My roomie rips out every night on hers, I imagine her hanging out with a bunch of idiotic guidos! I had a pack of about 10 bikes fly by me last night. I was hoping one of them would wreck so I could drive by laughing. Hauling *** on the streets is completely lame!

Fastest thing I've ridden in is a twin turbo'd LS3 powered sequential sand rail. They dyno'd it at just over 1100hp. It also had almost 20" of suspension... Sorry but there's nothing on the street that even remotely would turn my head like those cars do!
