^^ Man, I should have gone with you guys today. I did Angel's Peak with Clyde. It was really nice up there. Maybe 75* or so. Where does Bitter Springs start? I was just telling the wife today I want to find a trail down to the lake that we can do with the Jeep.

I spent the morning putting my power steering pump back in after taking it out last night to replace it with the new PSC one I bought. Except the PSC one is for a 90-94... 'Course I didn't figure that out til after I couldn't get the bolts all the way in. So I put the stocker back in and went for a wheelin' trip.

It starts near the Valley of Fire entrance. Was a really mild trail but long. We stopped a lot as well. Rabbit found a mountain lion claw. Lucky bastard.

I didn't know that, I thought you were stuck working all day at home by the way you talked on here. I will hit you up next time for sure.

I saw the claw but had no idea what it was from. I was thinking something prehistoric like a Velociraptor or a Brontosaurus.

Which Valley of Fire entrance? I'm guessing the one right off 15? Do you pay to get in the gate or is the trail before the gate? And how long would it be to do?

The views from up there are very impressive.

It's the one by the Indian gas station to the right. Is that off 15? There is a lot of road work right now. One lane closed. The Valley of fire entrance goes to the left and we stayed right. Bunny can give you better details. We didn't pay a fee or come across a kiosk to pay. If you take your time stopping and checking things out you can kill 3 hours or more. When we got to the lake we ate lunch and walked/drove around quite a bit.

Haven't confirmed it to be a mountain lion claw. It has the right shape and size, but the color is darker than samples I've seen online. It has the color and shape of a coyote, but it's much too large to be canid. The closer I looked at it, it appears to have age to it, but not quite what I'd expect from something fossilized.

Not sure about this one yet.

Yeah, it was awesome. Looking to the northwest, it almost looks like you can see Amargosa Dunes, but I know it's gotta be farther than that. Looks like a big sandy dry lake bed area though.

North end starts here:
3627'32.36"N 11444'5.77"W

Navigate to and turn here:
3616'57.72"N 11431'2.29"W

Follow that trail south to North Shore Rd. and avoid the toll booth.
