It's good for national parks but not for state parks. Vice verse for state parks. Valley of Fire, Red Rock, Floyd Lamb ect. you still have to pay or buy that pass too. An yes, it's 80 bones for a national one year pass. Not bad at all if you have time to travel.

The red rock people usually let me in with the national park (eagle?) pass. I've never had to pay to get in since I've bought that. It's the same one I use to get to Lake Mead and Death Valley

Golden Eagle passes aren't being sold anymore. But you are lucky they let you in. I was told otherwise. I think it's called access pass now.

I am now confused about the passes they offer. It says 80 dollar annual pass but no life time pass. They only have senior life time passes? Then there is the access pass that is free to all citizens but doesn't cover costs? WTF.

The fee isn't just to tell you which trails you can and can't go on. It pays for the maintenance of said trails and paved roads. It helps pay for cleanup and law enforcement out there. It's not all bad, because if you get hurt, they are the ones who come help you. It's mostly for maintenance and general upkeep o the park. Besides, people are less likely to be destructive in places they have to pay to get into. Free spots are much worse in quality.

Not sure which paarks are state or federal. The only parks I visit are Red Rock and Lake Mead. Is there a pass that covers both?

Speaking of red rock...you guys ever get the stink eye from the tree higher hippies out there when jeeping up the potato ridge trail from the red rock side? I've gotten from them two out of the three times I've ran it. I just smile and wave, smile and wave. It's funny.

That's why you go up potato ridge, it scares the poo out of them when you're coming at them! haha

the $80 pass will get you into these close parks Lake Mead, Redrock, Death Valley, Zion, Grand Canyon. I am sure that there are more, but those are the ones that are within a few hours that I know of. The annual pass to Redrock is $25 alone.
