Why not just get a converter to plug into the wall?

Well the cheapest that I can find a power supply that will handle the minimum 18 amps recommended for the winch is around $130 shipped. For way cheaper I can get a small battery and just trickle charge it. I have hooked up my battery charger to it while running 10 amps, but it was very slow, and that would overheat the motor in no time.

You can get a good set of 16 ft 8 ga jumper cables for around $30 or a small battery with a trickle charger for under $50. If I ever saw the need for a rear mounted winch, it would be perfect to have a power plug in the back and just plug it in. But seeing that the jeep will be there everytime that I need to winch the top up/down, I am thinking that the jumper cables might be the best bet for me.

I went to Fry's once and they didn't have exactly what I needed on 3 different items. Interesting porn collection next to the horror movies though. Some ghetto boy was cranking the bass in the car audio section. I swear every time I hear that garbage it makes me want to chamber a round. Probably because I am so pimp. Do you know what I am saying?

Well on a side note I was just in the lunch room heating up a mix of muratic acid and water to use as an etching solution to inspect weld penetration on a wheel that we cut up on the bandsaw. I heated the mix till it was boiling and it filled the microwave with steam. I then walked over to the sink to apply the acid mix to the part with a q-tip and not paying attention I missed the fact that one of the warehouse workers had walked in and out of the 8 microwaves to choose from popped their food in the one I had just used and had left the door cracked open on. Uhhhhhhhh, crap!!!

They'll be fine! It's just steam! When water boils, it goes back to pure water. Unless you spilled it in the dudes food, no worries. Technically acids are gases bubbled through water to make solution. They don't bond with water, so when the water goes to gas form(steam) they both escape together. Now if it condensed on the ceiling of the oven and dripped in the food, depending on the strength of the acid solution, it would be akin to adding vinegar to it. Either way, it's dilute enough to not cause issue.

Well I haven't heard any sirens so I'm assuming all is well! LOL

On a side note, found out 1st hand yesterday that the VIN programmed in the ECU of your TJ DOES NOT have to match the vehicle for it to pass smog here in nevada right now at least.

for the 22nd are you guys looking at crawdad or callville? It looks like callville has tree's and grass at the beach area on google earth. I have never actually been before. We generally go to Crawdad for swimming, if you go past the end of the wash, there are areas that you need a 4wd to get to.

Callville click me

crawdad click me

Theoretical question....if you have a side note of a side note, isnt it just a note? Or is it a side side note?

I just heard that Obama ad on the kids' station on pandora. Oil prices are the lowest in five years my as s!!! What a doosh bag campaigner in chief! He's truly been a worthless hindrance of a wind bag president. It's as I the country is trying to find the dumbest guy in the world to run the USA!! It's been all down hill since Reagan and old bush! At least Clinton had intelligence on his side, his little head just got in the way!

I was reading somewhere the other day that gun/ammo purchases are up almost 60%... not sure from when though. But it is due to the masses believing that if Obama wants to get stricter gun laws and that he has not pressed the issue because he wants to get a second term. If he gets elected a second term that he will have nothing to lose and he will start pushing his other agenda's.

Sadly he will probably win another term. Romney won't have the support of the minorities and he is terrible too. Not as bad as Obongo though. Santorum just dropped out of the running and none of the other Candidates stand a chance so a vote for them is a vote thrown away. We really need to get this guy out of office before he sinks the ship any further. Dark days are ahead. Lock and Load.

Boy you're not kidding there. If he gets a second term, this country will fail! You heard it here first. You can't spend money to the point where you have to print more to cover debts, then just give up and start paying credit with credit with credit. There will be uprising an lots of people will die! Many will die for senseless reasons(innocents) others will die because they do something stupid or are a part of the problem. There will be civil war leading to revolution. There may become two separate countries, or many liberals will die and the country will remain one, but it will be severely weakened. The military will be forced to engage private citizens in combat....dark days indeed!
